160 Beneficiaries Gets One Time Financial Assistance In BTR


KOKRAJHAR, JUL 27: A total 160 beneficiaries of Silk worm rearers have been given one-time grants-in-aid under Sericulture department of Bodoland Territorial Region districts on Wednesday.

The beneficiaries were given the grants in aid at a ceremonially distribution programme under individual Beneficiary Scheme (IBS)’2021-22 by the Sericulture department of Bodoland Territorial Region held at Bodoland Silk Park, Adabari in Kokrajhar.

BTR executive member for Sericulture department, Daobaisa Boro distributed the grants in aid among the beneficiaries of Silk worm rearers in the presence of Dr Jagesh Deori OSD, Sericulture BTC, A. Chakravarty CHD, Sericulture BTC, Sameswar Basumatary PRO BTC and senior officials of the department.

Each of beneficiaries was given Rs.10,000 under the 2021-22 financial year as one time financial assistance to the 160 beneficiaries across the BTR districts including 43 beneficiaries from Kokrajhar district were benefitted from the scheme.

BTR executive member Boro said that the Sericulture department has been emphasizing for bringing more growthnesss of the Sericulture department in Bodoland region.He informed that the Sericulture department has been coming forward to extend financial support to the local farmers who are rearing Silk worm across the region and helping hand towards the production of more Sericulture product in the districts and today distributed financial assistance.

He said that the amount paid to the beneficiaries may use in proper way. So that the projects may improve anything like. He has urged the Silk worm rearers to improve to produce more livelihoods with those projects/schemes by earning some economical benefits.

He also mentioned some important projects/schemes which steps are being taken by government of BTR which are included Bodoland Super 50 mission for UPSC coaching, Super 50 for Madical students, Super 50 for IIT coaching in this year onwards under guidance of  bold leadership Shrijut Pramod Boro CEM BTR.

He said that the Bodoland region is getting more ushering with facilitating more earning of livelihoods as BTR government has so far launched many mission and visions to make welfare and development of the region.

Dr. Jagesh Deori while addressing the occasion have suggested to the beneficiaries said that the rearers must use paid amount in the positive way to make produce more products of the Silk in days to come so that schemes may help in earning mote livelihoods.
