AAGSU Pays Homage To Martyr Durga Malla In Kokrajhar

KOKRAJHAR, AUG 25: A rich floral tribute was offered to freedom fighter martyr major Durga Malla on his 77th death anniversary on Wednesday at Gorkha Bhawan in Kokrajhar.

The death anniversary was organised by Kokrajhar district committee of All Assam Gorkha Students Union (AAGSU) and Kokrajhar anchalik committee where members from different anchalik committees of the students union participated and offered rich floral tribute.

The students union has recalled contributions of martyr Durga Malla who had sacrificed his life for the caused of national integration during the freedom movement.

Durga Malla was hanged to death on 25th August (1944) by Britishers for involving with Indian freedom movement.

Durga Malla was belonged to Gorkha community who had sacrificed life for the caused of national movement.

A blood donation camp was also held on the occasion to mark the death anniversary observation.

Nearly 50 members of AAGSU have donated blood.

Medical staffs including doctors from Rup Nath Brahma civil hospital attended the camp.

President of Kokrajhar district committee of AAGSU Subash Pokhrel told that the students union have recalled contributions of martyr Durga Malla who had sacrificed his life for the caused of freedom movement in India.

He said that Gorkha community is proud for his noble contributions towards the Indian freedom movement.
