KOKRAJHAR, SEP 29: The All Assam Minority Students Union (AAMSU) has demanded justice to the murder of former ABMSU president Lafikul Islam Ahmed by identifying the involved culprits and punished them with strong law.
Addressing to the reporters at a press conference held at Kokrajhar Press Club today, AAMSU president Rejaul Karim Sarkar slammed the state government and BTC administration for not taking stern steps to identify the involved culprits with Lafikul Islam Ahmed murder case. He said that even though state government handed over to the CBI for investigation after SIT complete it’s investigation, yet no any reports of the investigation was made public till today.
Notably, Lafikul was murdered by unknown armed miscreants at Titaguri Bazar on 1st August in 2017 in Kokrajhar.
Sarkar urged the state government to take stern investigation initiative into Lafikul murder case and punished the culprits.
He has also demanded stop atrocities on minority peoples in the region as some of minority peoples lost their lives in the last four months in the hands of miscreants.
He alleged that minority peoples are deprived of their due development and welfare aspects due to insincerity attitudes from the government itself. He demanded uplift and welfare initiatives from the government for the minority peoples to facilitate healthy development.

He said that minority peoples want healthy development and integrity among all sections of the society.
On BTC council elections, Sarkar said that AAMSU also wants early conduct of BTC election within October month to get healthy democracy.He has state government and election commission to take for conducting the council elections through maintaining COVID-19 protocol as soon as possible.
