ABMSU Slams Govt For Justice Of Lafikul Murder Case


KOKRAJHAR, FEB 27: The All BTC Minority Students Union (ABMSU) has slammed state government and chief minister Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma for not initiating steps for extending justice to the Lafikul Islam Ahmed, former ABMSU president murder case and demanded immediate arrests of three main culprits whose names were declared in the the CBI chargesheet.

Notably, former ABMSU president Lafikul Islam Ahmed was shot dead by unknown armed miscreants on 1st August (2017) at Titaguri bazar at daybrought light in Kokrajhar.

In a media briefing in Kokrajhar today, ABMSU president Ashraful Islam has strongly criticized the state government for not able to arrest the main culprits those were involved with the Lafikul murder case even after CBI declared names of the culprits.

He has expressed his resented and dissatisfiction with the government’s insincerity attitudes the arrests of the culprits of the murder case.

He accused that the state government has not stressed any steps to extend justice to the Lafikul murder case.

The ABMSU leader said that the minority peoples are deprived from their due rights and aspects due to insincerity attitudes of government in the state.

He said that the students union was working towards the welfare and integration of the minority community in the region. He has urged the state government to make fulfilment of the assured promises that put during the election days in the state.

He has demanded land rights to the minority peoples across the state and stop all eviction drives on the minority peoples.

Meanwhile, the 8th biennium convention of the Kokrajhar district committee of ABMSU was concluded with two day programme scheduled at Ghoramari Rainadhabri on Sunday in Kokrajhar.

During the convention, a new executve committee of the Kokrajhar district committee of ABMSU was formed with Nazrul Islam as president and Selim Sheik as general secretary along with other 15 members.
