ABMSU Slams Govt For Minority People’s Welfare


KOKRAJHAR, FEB 8: The All BTC Minority Students Union (ABMSU) has slammed state government and Bodoland Territorial Region (BTR) government for not initiating any step towards the welfare and development of the minority peoples across the state.

Addressing the reporters today at a press conference held at Kokrajhar Press Club, ABMSU general secretary Taison Hussain said that the minority peoples are deprived from their due rights and aspects due to insincerity attitudes of government in the state.

He said that the students union was working towards the welfare and integration of the minority community in the region. He has urged the state and BTR government to make fulfilment of the assured promises that put during the election days in the state.

He has demanded rehabilitation of minority peoples who were faced ethnic clashes in various places in the region.

Meanwhile, Hussain also strongly condemned the atrocities on media persons at Basugaon of Chirang district. He has demanded a strict investigation into the attack and atrocities on media persons.

Hussain urged the government and police to take a strong step against the two police personel who attacked on journalist Jayanta Debnath.
