ABSU Delegation Meets Bodoland University Authorities

KOKRAJHAR, OCT 21: The All Bodo Students Union (ABSU) has demanded increasement of seat capacity for post graduate (PG) admission due time for the greater interest of student fraternities, issuing sixth semester’s grade-sheet, delivering sufficient equipments for Science streams in Bodoland University.

On Thursday, a five member delegation team of the ABSU led by its education secretary, Swmaosar Basumatary met the academic registrar and in-charge registrar of Bodoland University, Dr. Manjil Basumatary and Prof. Indira Boro at Bodoland University conference Hall and discussed deeply on the educatiional related issues which has emphasised increase of seat capacity of PG admission facilities for the student communities in the Bodoland University.

The Bodoland University is the only higher educatiional institution in Bodoland Territorial Region as well lower Assam districts.

In a press statement,ABSU education secretary Swmaosar Basumatary said that in respect to the invitation from the Bodoland University, a meeting was held in between student union and university authority on Thursday to discuss on the increase of seat capacity for PG admission for the greater interest of students fraternity, issuing sixth semester grade-sheet, delivering sufficient equipments for Science streams and postponement of B.Ed & M. Ed entrance examinations which is supposed to be conducted 31st October in the university.

He informed that the student union appealed the university authorities to make postponement the dates of B.Ed & M.Ed entrance examinations which date of examination is the same with Assam LP & UP’s TET examination date and the university authority has assured to the students body that the adequate measures will be taken on the postponement of B.Ed & M. Ed entrance examination date.

“The university authority have also assured for initiating appropriate measure towards the increasing of seat capacity for PG admission due time through consultation with concern stakeholders of the university.The grade-sheet of the sixth semester would be issued within the few days soon after the puja vacation”, Basumatary said.

He said that the meeting with Bodoland University authorities was fruitful over the issues of academic admission and student’s welfare related matters.

He said that the students union was working dedicatedly bringing of quality educational environment among the student fraternities and accordingly urging the university authority for time bound admission procedure and regularly issuance of grade-sheets of the semester examinations in the university for facilitating student’s admission for acquiring higher educatiional aspects timely.

Basumatary also urged the student fraternities to dedicate study hard while taking higher studies in their life to be a good successful life in days to come.
