KOKRAJHAR, OCT 29: All Bodo Students Union (ABSU) has eyed free and fair Assam assembly by-polls in five constituencies including No. 28 Gossaigaon LAC to meet a smooth successful of the by-election.
In an interview with reporters today in Kokrajhar, ABSU president Dipen Boro has said that the students always want free and fair elections with peace and harmony among the society.
He has urged the district administration and subdivisional administration to maintain healthy law and order situation across the district to get a smooth successful of by-polls.He has appealed to all citizens of the Gossaigaon LAC to come forward for franchising democratic voting rights on Saturday.
Meanwhile,all polling personel and security forces are reached at the polling stations for the by-polls in Gossaigaon LAC.
Distriict administration and subdivisional administration have have made necessary preparation and arrangements to conduct the by-polls in a free and fair elections across the Gossaigaon constituency.
A strict security vigil has been deployed in all polling stations.
Eight candidates are in fray to contest the assembly by-polls at Gossaigaon LAC including Jiron Basumatary (UPPL), Dhruba Kumar Brahma Narzary (BPF), Jowel Tudu (Congress), Khairul Anam Kandakar (AIUDF).
The by-polls in Gossaigaon was necessitated following expire of sitting MLA Majendra Narzary due to COVID complication in June last.
