KOKRAJHAR, FEB 3: The office bearers of newly formed Kokrajhar district unit of All Bodo Students Union (ABSU) takes oath of office on Wednesday in Kokrajhar today as per the norms of constitution of the students union.
Kokrajhar district unit ABSU was formed executive committee who have taken oaths of office at a programme held at Science College Auditorium. Newly selected president Kripesh Daimary and secretary Kampha Basumatary along with other 25 executive members were administered by out going president of Kokrajhar district unit ABSU Janak Ujir amidst presence of members from 21 anchalik committees.
On the occasion, out going general secretary of central ABSU Lawrence Islary was also given away warm farewell.
Islary was relieved from the post of ABSU general secretary on 31 January during the 53rd annual conference of the ABSU held at Gohpur in Biswanath district.
Newly selected president of Kokrajhar district unit ABSU, Kripesh Daimary told that the district unit of ABSU was formed recently and today took oath as per the norms of constitution of the students union. He said that the students union was working for the uplift and developmental activities including educational environment among the society since it’s inception.
Among others, Director of UN Academy Kokrajhar Krishna Gopal Basumatary was also attended as guest on the occasion.
