ABSU wants properly implementation of the BTR accord clauses.


KOKRAJHAR, OCT 5: The All Bodo Students Union (ABSU) has demanded properly implementation of all clauses enlisted the historic BTR accord (Bodoland Territorial Region) with involving signatories and signatory organisations while initiating steps for alloting land areas to establish educational institution and setting up some other institutes through the spirits of memorandum of settlement (MoS) of BTR accord.
A five member delegation team of ABSU led by it’s president Dipen Boro today met Principal Secretary of BTC at BTC Secretariat and submitted a memorandum seeking properly implementation of the BTC accord clauses and urged for involving the signatories and signatory organisations of BTR accord while allotting requirement of land for setting up of educational services in India region.
The All Bodo Students Union being the key signatory organization to the MoS is following every process of implementation is aware of the initiative taken by the Government of India and Assam and wants properly implementation of the BTR accord that signed on 27th January last.
The students union has welcomed every steps of the Government to implement this MoS, however there are certain matters which are already in process through the Council Govt.
In this regard there are some of the official letters which are circulated by the BTC Secretariat to the various circle offices seeking for the allotment of land and its status for establishment of various institutions and projects. Whereas, this is of serious matter the signatories and signatory organizations are not made known regarding this developments, therefore ABSU would like to state the following concerns:
Whatever the matters regarding the implementation of the clauses pertaining to various Government of India & Government of Assam specified institutions the signatory and signatory organizations has to be consulted and made known.
“The signatory and signatory organizations clearly know and have the objective behind mentioning of such places and locations in the MoS for the specific central and state institutions.
Subject to these objectives by the signatories and signatory organizations the selection of site, location, area of land required has to be consulted.
While issuing such official letters to the circle officers for land requirement and area selection there have been some wrongly mentioned locations and selection not according to the required norms for establishment of such institutions”, ABSU president Dipen Boro said.
He has demanded strict intervention from the BTC Principal Secretary into allotting land and carrying activities to establish educational institution and taking properly steps to ensure properly implementation of the BTR accord clauses in data to come.
“ABSU expects prompt intervention and in accordance to the spirit and aspirations of the signatories and signatory organizations through the spirit of MoS of BTR accord”, Boro added.
