KOKRAJHAR, SEP 8: Along with other districts of the state, a total of 209 students who passed the High School Leaving Certificate (HSLC)/Assam High Madrasa examination, 2022 by securing star marks and distinction marks were given the Anundoram Barooah Cash Award at the auditorium of Kajalgaon High School under the initiative of the district administration and district education department of Chirang district on Wednesday.
This year’s Anundoram Barooah Award includes a financial incentive of Rs 16,000 and a certificate of appreciation.
Attending as chief guest in the award ceremony, Rajya Sabha MP Rwngwra Narzary ceremonialy distributed the awards to the students. He expressed concern over the low pass rate in the last HSLC examination, 2022 in the district and urged the officials of education department to improve this rate in the coming days.
BTC Executive Member of Forest Department Ranjit Basumatary, Council Member Pradeep Kumar Bayan, Deputy Commissioner P Vijay Bhaskar Reddy and Additional Deputy Commissioner Ajit Kumar Sharma also spoke on the occasion.
