KOKRAJHAR, AUG 14: A grand rally was carried out today in Kokrajhar town in connection with the celebration of Azadi Ka Amrith Mahotsov under the initiative of Har Ghar Tirangaa programme.
Thousands of citizens from different places of Kokrajhar district participated the rally with holding national tricolour flag which was started from main gate complex of Bodoland Territorial Region, Bodofa Nwgwr in Kokrajhar that traversed to JD Road, RNB Road and concluded at KDSA ground.
The rally was organised by Bodoland Territorial Region (BTR) government to mark the 75th glorious years of the Independence Day of the country.
BTR chief executive member Pramod Boro flagged off the rally in the presence of Kokrajhar deputy commissioner, Kokrajhar Varnali Deka, SP Prateek Thube, MLA Lawrence Islary, BTC executive members Dr Nilut Swargiary, Arup Kumar Dey, BTC MCLA Madhav Chetry, UPPL general secretary Raju Kumar Narzary.
Boro has extended congratulations to all the citizens of the region on the eve of Independence Day. He said that the country is celebrating the 76th Independence Day on Monday.
A Rangoli drawing competition with multi colours was organised today at UPPL central committee office on the occasion of Azadi Ka Amrith Mahotsov celebration.
Over 30 women participants participated the event which was organised by Kokrajhar district committee of women’s wing of UPPL party.
Meanwhile, the district administration, Kokrajhar has arranged a preparation to celebrate the 76 th Independence Day celebration to be held at Govt HS & MP School parade ground in Kokrajhar.
Necessary preparation and arrangements so far completed by this evening to celebrate the Independence Day in Kokrajhar.
Deputy Commissioner, Kokrajhar, Varnali Deka told that the preperations are over to celebrate the Independence Day with befitting programme scheduled in Kokrajhar.
