Bhutan Official Meet BTR CEM Pramod Boro 


KOKRAJHAR, JUN 29: An interaction session with the faculties and students of Central Institute of Technology (CIT), Kokrajhar with Jigme Thinlye Namgyal, Consul General of Royal Govt. of Bhutan was held at Brajendra Kumar Brahma hall of CIT Kokrajhar on Wednesday.

The session saw a healthy participation of the students from the institute that witnessed into deep relationship building up between Bodoland region and neighbouring Bhutan country.

A meeting was held at the conference hall of CIT guest house in between BTR CEM, Pramod Boro, deputy CEM Gabinda Chandra Basumatary, BTR Principal Secretary, BTC and Secretaries and Jigme Thinlye Namgyal, Consul General & Phurpe Tshering, vice consul of Royal Govt. of Bhutan country.

The meeting discussed thoroughly on various issues including water damps,drinking water problem; tourism industries, boundary, trade centre; road connectivity; livelihood; cultural exchange; sports talent exchange.

The meeting has emphasised for building up an integration with deepening of cooperation on both sides while addressing the issues and developmental aspects.

In his speech, Boro said the meeting discussed wide on various issues which are included water damps which is over flowing to the downstream and let to the flood affected in Bodoland Territorial Region districts.

It need to be mentioned that the BTR districts and it’s adjoining areas are witnessing flash floods and facing severe flood situation since few days ago.

Boro appeal that we (both BTR and Bhutan) must maintain continuation of integration with peaceful, harmony, brotherhood with the neighbouring country be fond of Bhutan and Bodoland belt (Assam).

Regarding the commerce, trade centre, tourism, industry’s uplift aspects, BTC secretary, NC Basumatary informed that the Indo-Bhutan national highway projects which is going to be constructed soon to make a strong road connectivity across the region.

BTR CEM Boro inaugurated the Biofloc technologies research centre at CIT complex in Kokrajhar under the department of Food engineering & technology, CIT Kokrajhar.
