Biennial Convention Of BJA Concludes


KOKRAJHAR, JAN 10: The fourth biennial convention of the Bodoland Journalists Association (BJA) was concluded on Sunday with a day-long programme scheduled held at Kajalgaon parade ground in Chirang district.

As part of the programme scheduled, president of the associaion, Jaiklong Brahma hoisted associaion flag followed by homage to martyrs by general secretary Naba Kumar Deka.

BTC MCLA Saikhong Basumatary planted a sapling in the event while Sidli MLA Jayanta Basumatary inagurated the delegate session hall. The delegate session was chaired by associaion president Jaiklong Brahma.

The session discussed deeply on various issues and grievances of the journalists related issues including welfare and integration of the journalists.

During the session,a new committe of the associaion was formed with Abu Bakkar Siddique (Chirang) as president and Hantigiri Narzary (Kokrajhar) as general secretary along with other 18 executve members for next two year term.

An open meeting was also held in connection with the convention.

BTC executive member for information and public relations department, Dr Nilut Swargiary graced as chief guest, BTC deputy speaker Abhiram Mahanayak, Sidli MLA Jayanta Basumatary attended as guests of honour.
