Bodoland Premier Volleyball Championship Begins in Kokrajhar

KOKRAJHAR, FEB 25: The first ever Bodoland premier volleyball championship-2021 kicked start from today at KDSA ground in Kokrajhar.

Ten teams from four districts of Bodoland Territorial Region are participating the championship which was organised by Sports and Youth Welfare department of BTR.

BTC Secretary Naren Chandra Basumatary graced as Chief Guest abd inaugurated the championship.

In the inaugural, Kokrajhar district sports association take against Chirang district sports association.

The winner team would be awarded a trophy and cash INR 75,000 and runners up team to be given away a trophy and cash INR 50,000 respectively.

BTC council head of department for sports and youth welfare of BTC, Jajnawati Basumatary said that her department has been working for youth’s welfare and sporting environment in the region.She said that BTC administration has been emphasizing for bringing sporting arena among the society.

Meanwhile, along with rest of the state, sport’s volleyball and nets were distributed among the schools under the Governor’s Girl’s volleyball mission today at a programme held at DC office conference hall in Kokrajhar.

Kokrajhar deputy commissioner (DC) Bhaskar Phukan ceremonially distributed the volleyball materials among the girl students.

A total 215 schools in Kokrajhar district was given away Girl’s volleyball and nets.

Phukan said that the Governor’s mission is extending support and encourage the budding up sports personality in days to come.
