BPF Reacts Over Discharging Duty On Responsibilities Of DC/SDOs In BTC


KOKRAJHAR, JUN 9: The opposition Bodoland People’s Front (BPF) party has strongly criticized and reacted over the discharging duty on responsibilities of deputy commissioner (DC)/ subdivisional officers (SDOs) in the Bodoland Territorial Council administration districts that has involved in the developmental activities in the council.

Speaking the reporters today at a press conference after a party meeting held at Gaurang Valley in Kokrajhar, BPF party spokesman Kampa Borgoyary and senior BPF leader and former Assam minister Chandan Brahma said that the government’s decision and notification declared recently on 4th June regarding the entrusting of DC/SDOs of the BTC districts in the developmental activities are totally going against the interest of the indigenous peoples.

They said that the BTC was created to work welfare and development of the common masses in Boroland region and accordingly the DC/SDOs were kept out of the BTC administration in previous government.

They said that the BPF party strongly opposes the move notification to accord power and function to the DCs and SDOs of BTC districts through a notification from Governor’s office recently while taking stock about the development activities.

Borgoyary informed that BPF has opined that the BTC was created under sixth scheduled to meet healthy development and welfare.

He said that BPF will continue it’s strong oppose the move to entrust the DCs and SDOs in the BTC developmental activities.

” The notification reached over the involvement of DCs and SDOs in the BTC administration functions and powers entrusted. The DCs and SDOs are part of the state administration and not involved with the BTC administration”, Borgoyary said.

The BPF leaders still today termed that the UPPL BJP GSP alliance government is not valid as the floor test conducted on 24th December was not acceptable.

” The BTC government is not going properly parliamentary system as the composite floor test was not done properly”, Brahma said.

He informed that the BPF lodged a case with Gauhati High Court over the floor test which was not acceptable and hopeful that the honorable High Court will give a positive verdict on the issue.

Over the BTC legislative assembly, Borgoyary said that BPF party MCLAs are not participating the BTC legislative assembly following case hearing going in the High Court.

Meanwhile, BPF party holds an intellectual meeting at Gaurang Valley Hotel today in Kokrajhar where senior party leaders, MLAs,,ex ministers,ex MLAs, BTC MCLAs including ex minister Chandan Brahma, Pramila Rani Brahma, MLA Durga Das Boro, Rabiram Narzary attended.

The meeting was the first intellectual meeting after Assam assembly elections in the state held in Kokrajhar.

The meeting discussed on the party’s strategy building up for bringing party’s developmental and agenda creation in days to come.
