BTC CEM Pramod Boro Declares Kokrajhar as ‘City of Peace’

KOKRAJHAR, DEC 20: Bodoland Territorial Council (BTC) chief executive member Pramod Boro has declared Kokrajhar as “city of peace” in BTAD administration planting with white rose flowers besides making erecting attractive beautification across the Kokrajhar town.

On Sunday in Kokrajhar while interacting with reporters, Boro has emphasized to build Kokrajhar as a ‘city of peace’ in BTC administration with planting white rose flowers besides making erecting attractive beautification to create healthy uplift and development of the town.

“As part of peace initiative of CEM Boro, and as announced by him during oath taking ceremony too, he designated Kokrajhar as the ‘Peace City’ of BTC. As part of this endeavour, EC resolved to provide three flower pots with white roses to all the shops in the market area as symbol of lasting peace in the area”, he said.

He said quality services and integration would be provided from the BTC administration towards the attractions of the city.

He has revealed,” Elected MCLAs of the UPPL party rushed to Shillong in Meghalaya on Saturday evening for a little recreation after the BTC elections”.

He said that the UPPL BJP GSP coalition government is intact with majority and no fear of decreasing.

The writ petition lodged from BPF party to the High Court against the BTC government was only to create tension, no any impact to be happened upon coalition government.

” No any elected MCLAs and executive members of BTC government would be allowed to go foreign trip or health issues without authorise of the council head”, Boro added.

He said that UPPL BJP GSP coalition government is fully committed to work for the welfare and development services of the citizens across the region.

Boro informed that the first Executive Council (EC) of Bodoland Territorial jurisdiction held on December 18 has resolved to make request government of India and government of Assam to expedite the process of the clauses of Bodoland Territorial Region (BTR) accord implementation as well requesting for a tripartite meeting on the matter with the governments.

Several important decisions were taken in the meeting regarding the bringing good governance and welfare aspects for the peoples in the council.

The decisions were included as various reports related to delays in land sale permission and issues related to land transfer have been received from time, Executive Council entrusted the responsibility of preparing a Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) for streamlining all related matters and permissions for public convenience.

Since the BTR accord signing was a major step for ushering in peace and prosperity for the BTR, EC resolved to request government of India and government of Assam to expedite the process of Accord Implementation. The EC also resolved to request for a tripartite meeting on the matter with Govt. of India and Govt. of Assam.

The EC also resolved to request Govt. of Assam for early implementation of Arunodoi and Svayem Schemes in BTR region with properly distribution of the rights and welfare aspects.

CEM Boro has further directed all officials to work with full dedication, transparency and honesty to ensure all round development of the Bodoland Territorial Region.
