KOKRAJHAR, JUL 28: Bodoland Territorial Council executive member Arup Kumar Dey cut the ribbon to inaugurate the newly constructed Alangi Rural Haat shed at Alangi near Bishmuri in Kokrajhar district today in the presence of chief general manager of NABARD bank Baiju Kurup.
The Rural Haat was constructed with an amounting of Rs. 10.70 lakh contributing 90% of the total amount from NABARD bank and 10% percent contributed from Alangi Bazar development committee to facilitate marketing facilities for small businessman along the remote Alangi areas.
Notably, the Alangi Rural Haat shed will be benefitted around 14 villages covering over 1200 households indirectly and 50 vendors directly.
Dey has expressed his hopeful that the newly constructed rural market shed is facilitating markets space for rural traders especially for women vendors.
He said that the BTR administration and NABARD bank are jointly initiated the construction of market shed at the remote areas.
Kurup told that the NABARD bank authority has been emphasizing to explore market space along the remote areas in Kokrajhar and it’s adjoining areas.He said that the NABARD bank always sees the welfare and uplift of traders in the remote areas.
He said that rural area vendors are getting market space in the region as NABARD bank was Sidli towards the uplift and development of the rural areas.
Among others, Kokrajhar municipality board chairperson Pratibha Brahma was also present in the event.
