BTCLA Ready to Conduct Floor Test

KOKRAJHAR, DEC 23: Bodoland Territorial Council Legislative Assembly is all set to conduct the floor test on Thursday following the Gauhati High Court has ordered for convening composite floor test to form the BTC government.

Notably, UPPL BJP and GSP parties have formed coalition government in BTC with majority number of 23 and accordingly Pramod Boro took oath of office and secrecy on 15th December which was administered by chief secretary of Assam government under the guidance of Assam Governor.

The floor test has been ordered to  convene following BPF party filed writ petition with Gauhati High Court which was put hearing on Tuesday.

Necessary arrangement and preparations are so far completed for the test with strict security deployment and observation in BTC Legislative Assembly hall Bodofa Nwgwr in Kokrajhar.

According to source, all elected members different parties are participating the test on Thursday which will be starting from 10 am.

Need to be mentioned that BPF won 17 (later one member joined in BJP), UPPL 12, BJP 9, GSP 1 and Congress 1 (later joined in BJP).

The BPF party has demanded the floor test of BTC Legislative Assembly must be conducted through the secret ballot papers in a democratic system.

Speaking the reporters today, BPF spokesperson and ex BTC deputy chief Kampa Borgoyary said that his BPF party is ready to face the floor test in the assembly.

He said that the floor test should be held through healthy democratic system to elect CEM, deputy CEM following selecting speaker, deputy speaker in the house.

He has urged the concern authority to conduct the floor test with secret ballot papers, not with manual hand raising.

Meanwhile, Bodo Sahitya Sabha has urged the two regional parties UPPL and BPF in BTC region to come forward for united and integrity to form BTC government to work for better welfare and development.

President of Bodo Sahitya Sabha Toren Boro and general secretary Prasanta Boro while addressing a press conference held at RNB Bhawan in Kokrajhar today, said that the sabha always want peace and integration among the society, so both parties must come forward for united and integrity. They said that they have sent an appeal letter to both leaders of UPPL and BPF party for coming forward to come unitedly to form government in BTC.

Ex MP and president of All India Bodo National League for Bodoland Statehood Sansuma Khunggur Bwiswmuthiary also appealed to all regional parties to be united with integration to form BTC government.

Bwiswmuthiary said that the regional parties should come forward for regional unity and integrity. He said that the security wants an integration and united forces of regional parties in BTAD region.
