BTR CEM Pramod Boro Hoists National Tricolour Flag In Kokrajhar


KOKRAJHAR, AUG 15: Bodoland Territorial Region (BTR) chief executive member (CEM) Pramod Boro hoisted national tricolour flag at Kokrajhar Govt HS and MP School parade ground on the occasion of 75th Independence Day celebration on Sunday.

District administration, Kokrajhar centrally organised the 75th Independence Day celebration at Kokrajhar Govt HS and MP School parade ground and Gossaigaon & Parbatjhora subdivision have celebrated the Independence Day at their respective subdivision to mark the national occasion.

Before hoisting national flag, Boro paid homage to national martyrs, who sacrificed their lives for the caused of the country at the martyr tomb behind the old flyover in Kokrajhar.

BTR CEM Boro received guard of honour march-past presented by Assam Police and Home guard jawans contingents on the occasion besides enjoying Assam Police and Indian Army’s band party displaying which had gained attractions among the attending audience.

In his speech, Boro recalled contributions and sacrificed of national heroes who had contributed a lot towards the freedom of the country. He extended his deeply condolences and mourning of martyr freedom fighters including ‘Father of Nation’ Mahatma Gandhi (Mahandas Karamchand Gandhi), Pt Jawaharlal Nehru, Subash Chandra Bose etc through their deeply sacrificed India got freedom from Britishers on 15th August (1947).

He said that the citizens of the country must keep alive the ideology and philosophy of the Gandhi and several freedom fighters.

He said that the UPPL-BJP-GSP alliance government was working towards the uplift and development of the common masses since it’s inception. He said that the BTR government has emphasised to eradicate corruption and anomalies on all development which are meant for common masses.

He said that the BTR administration and state government have been stroking to solve all issues of ceasefire militant outfit organisations including Birsa Commando Force, Cobra militant organisation of Adivashi etc across the state.

“Peace environment must be prevailed in the state to make healthy upliftment of the state”, Boro said.

He has urged that the citizens must come forward to stop child trafficking and crimes on women and girls across the state.

He said that BTR government has emphasised strong integration among all sections of the society.

Among others, BTC speaker Katiram Boro, MLA of Kokrajhar East LAC Lawrence Islary, BTC Executive Member Reoreoa Narzihary were prominent attendees on the occasion.

BTR CEM Boro also visited at Kokrajhar RNB civil hospital to meet patients and enquired about their health.

Boro distributed fruits to the patients while marking the Independence celebration.

BTR CEM Pramod Boro also inaugurated an inter block friendly football match, being organised by Kokrajhar district youth committee of UPPL party held at Khagrabari playground, Banargaon in Kokrajhar.
