KOKRAJHAR, JAN 26: Bodoland Territorial Region (BTR) chief executive member Pramod Boro hoisted national tricolour flag on the occasion of 72nd Republic Day celebration being held at Govt HS and MP School parade ground in Kokrajhar today amidst huge gathering of citizens.

Boro offered floral tributes to martyrs at martyr tomb in Kokrajhar ahead hoisting national tricolour flag which was organised centrally by Kokrajhar district administration.

Boro recieved guard of honour presented by parade contingents like school children, police jawans, NCC etc on the occasion.

During the student and state/national award winners were also offered warm felicitation.

BTR CEM Boro visited at district jail and interacted with inmates besides distribution of fruit and sweets. He also visited at the Kokrajhar RNB civil hospital and met patients.

In his address, Boro has emphasised of peace and tranquility environment among the all sections of communities in the areas.

He has emphasised of good governance and transparent system in the BTR administration for paving the way healthy development and welfare.

He has opined that peace and unity environment must be prevailed to pave healthy welfare and development. BTR government is people’s government and accordingly peoples must get healthy communication.

He has voiced against the corruption and anomalies practices said that any kinds of corruption and anomalies must be stopped to lead welfare society.

“Corruption practices will be checked with proper initiative for building community happiness”, Boro said.

On the BTR accord implementation, all clauses of the BTR accord would be implemented with letter and spirit in days to come.

BTR CEM Pramod Boro has announced eight more new towns in BTR districts.

The newly announced towns are  Dotma and Bhawraguri in Kokrajhar district. Tamulpur, Mushalpur and Barama of Baksa district. Mazbat, Kalaigaon and Khoirabari of Udalguri district.

Meanwhile, the closing ceremony of the first BTR accord day celebration is arranged in Udalguri on Wednesday with colourful programme scheduled.

BTR accord day grand celebration was started from 24th January last where Union Home Minister Amit Shah graced as chief guest.

In the closing ceremony programme, Assam Education, Health and PWD minister Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma is attending as chief guest.
