KOKRAJHAR, FEB 12: Bodoland Territorial Region (BTR) chief executive member (CEM) Pramod Boro has vehemently condemned the speeches of BPF leader Prahlad Brahma on Bharat Ratna and ex president of India Dr APJ Abdul Kalam, ex PM Atal Bihari Bajpayee and prime minister Narendra Modi and demanded a strict steps against the BPF leader Prahlad Brahma for his derogatory remarks on great national leaders.
In a media interview with reporters in Kokrajhar today Boro has expressed his serious concern over the speeches of Prahlad Brahma who had insulted the former President Abdul Kalam and former Prime Minister Vajpayee and Prime Minister Modi.
Boro strongly reacted over the speech of Prahlad Brahma who had made unnecessary remarks on APJ Abdul Kalam and Vajpayee.
BTR CEM Boro, who also UPPL chief demanded a strict punishment for Prahlad Brahma for his unwanted and unacceptable remarks.
“The speech of Brahma has brought shame for the entire Bodo society as he had made unconstitutional remarks,” Boro said.
He said that the UPPL led UPPL-BJP-GSP alliance government in BTR has been working for the welfare and development for all sections of the society since its inception.
He further reacted to the remarks of former minister Pramila Rani Brahma over the Bodoland martyrs’ respect on Thursday during the BTC accord day celebration, and said that Pramila Rani Brahma’s remarks were unfortunate and unwanted.
He added that the UPPL party and the BTR government have always paid respect to the Bodoland martyrs because of whom the Bodos have reached to this juncture in the present day.
He came down heavily on Pramila Rani Brahma, and demanded an apology for making unacceptable remarks on Bodoland martyrs cemetery ground.
Further questioned the BPF party leaders that if the BPF party can celebrate the BTC accord day every year, then why they don’t celebrate the BAC (Bodoland Autonomous Council) accord day on February 20.
He accused the BPF party of never thinking about the welfare and development of the common masses in the region.
He accused Mohilary of never giving a thought about the welfare of citizens and for always creating conspiracy theories.
He further accused that the BPF party and Mohilary had perpetrated huge over 3000 crores of corruptions across the BTC government in their 17 years of rule.
He said that today the BTR government is working with bringing strategies towards uplift and development of the region.
He informed that so far BTR government has launched BTR Super 50 scheme to extend support and facilities at free of costs 11 months coaching for students those are coming from the poor family backgrounds while taking engineering, medical etc which would be starting from March next.
He said that his government has been stepping to extend welfare and development services among all sections of the communities in the region.
On the by-polls in BTR, Boro informed that necessary steps are so far initiated to conduct the by-polls at Kaklabari and Bhairabkunda constituencies in Bodoland Territorial Region.
Notably, the Kaklabari constituency has been lying vacancy after Pramod Boro resigned from the constituency after elected. Boro won both from Goybari and Kaklabari constituency.
Present MLA from Udalguri Gabinda Chandra Basumatary who is now holding BTR deputy CEM is likely to resign from the Bhairabkunda constituency within few months and accordingly Bhairabkunda constituency will be vacated in days to come.
Boro said that the by-polls would be held whenever election commission declares scheduled and BTR government is always ready to conduct the by-polls.
