KOKRAJHAR, AUG 6: Bodoland Territorial Council administration has constituted an Expert Committee for Drafting of the Education Policy of Bodoland Territorial Region to ensure quality educational environment in the region.
The expert committee was headed by BTR CEM Pramod Boro as chairman and BTC Principal Secretary Shantanu P Gotmare as vice chairman along with 43 others as members of the expert committee.
The expert committee has been formed with involving several members from different backgrounds of personalities, academicians, government officials, intellectuals, scholars including Bodo Sahitya Sabha, All Bodo Primary Teacher’s Association etc which has been aiming for bringing quality educatiional environment.
On Friday, the inaugural meeting of the expert committee was held at CIT Kokrajhar Guest House and connected with the Webinar where expertise on education including have participated and shared views over the Bodoland Education Policy.
The expert committee has been emphasizing for bringing healthy and quality educatiional environment among the society in Bodoland Territorial Council districts.
The inaugural meeting was chaired by BTR CEM Pramod Boro. BTC executive director Dr Nilut Swargiary, vice chancellor of Boroland University Prof Laishram Ladudingh, Director of UN Academy Kokrajhar were prominent attendees in the event.
BTR CEM Boro told that the expert committee has been constituted to revisit the educatiional status, condition and trajectories of schools and higher education institutions in the region.
“The expert committee has been emphasizing to share insights and best practices in the educatiional field, and to draft the education policy of BTR, through a participatory-consultatie process in the light of communities long years of struggle and aspirations for quality education in a light of The Right to Free and Compulsory Education Act (2009), National Education Policy (2020) and the NIPUN Bharat Mission of Government of India”, Boro said.
He said that the BTR education policy has opined for bringing skilled development among the youths for offering them professional educatiional environment in the districts.
He informed that the committee shall function with immediate effect and the tenure of the membership is till such time as the completion of the drafting of the Education Policy of Bodoland Territorial Region.
General Secretary of Bodo Sahitya Sabha Prasanto Boro has appreciated the initiatives initiated by BTC administration for Bodoland Education Policy to make healthy upliftment and development of the educatiional status in Bodoland Territorial Council districts.
He has hopeful that the Bodoland region will get educationally uplift through the properly initiative of the Bodoland Education Policy in days to come.
“We must come forward to cooperate towards properly stressing the Bodoland Education Policy to create quality educatiional environment and healthy social integration”, Boro said.
