KOKRAJHAR, DEC 27: Bodoland Territorial Region (BTR) executive member for Agriculture department, Ghanashyam Das has ordered an enquiry into the alleged bribes taken by two engineers of executive engineer (Agricultural) office in Kokrajhar recently in the name of tractor distribution from beneficiaries.
Notably, two engineers of executive engineer office in Kokrajhar (Agricultural), namely Nil Kanta Kalita and Sudip Deb had took bribes from tractor beneficiaries recently at the executive engineering office in Kokrajhar itself of which the money taking videos was viral across the social media.
In an exclusively talking with this Correspondent on Monday in Kokrajhar, Das told that he has so far ordered an enquiry into the allegedly bribes taking matter and termed that it was a unaccepted attitude of bribes taken from government employees at the government office.
He said that he has so far asked secretary of Agriculture department and director of BTR Agriculture department to take a strong investigation with an authentic step and they would be faced disciplinary punishment like suspension if they found guilty in their activities. He said that Agricultural department has been stepping a strict investigation into the incident and affirmed that no any excuse would be spared into the incident.
He said that BTR government and state government have been working with dedicatedly while discharging public services across the region to make an environment of corruption free situation.
He said that he has asked concern higher authorities to initiate a strong step to check the reportedly reported corruption like situation in the office room in the name of tractor distribution among the beneficiaries.
Meanwhile, the Agricultural department in Bodoland Territorial Region has issued a notice for investigation regarding the allegedly bribes taking case from executive engineer office of Agricultural in Kokrajhar and necessary step so far initiated.
“The investigation would be a thorough involving all concern and involvement would be checked properly”, said a senior official in Kokrajhar.
