KOKRAJHAR, SEP 10: A three day camping festival at Chakrashila wildlife sanctuary begins today at Jornagra village in Kokrajhar district.
Bodoland Territorial Region (BTR) chief executive member (CEM) Pramod Boro ceremonially inaugurated the festival in presence of BTR executive members Ranjit Basumatary and Dharma Narayan Das.
The festival was organised by Bodoland tourism in association with Nature’s Beckon to explore the tourism hotspots across the BTR districts.
The festival has been highlighting several activities including bird watching, jungle trekking, night trekking, cultural activities, nature conservative training across the region.
The Chakrashila wildlife sanctuary was declared as wildlife sanctuary in 1994 which was regarded as the first wildlife sanctuary in the region and healthy integrated of natural resources in Bodoland Territorial Council districts.
Boro said that the festival will be extending support towards exploring the tourism aspects to gain up attractivities of visitors.
BTR administration has been emphasizing for bringing healthy uplift and development of the fringe areas of Chakrashila wildlife sanctuary.
BTR executive member Das told that the camping festival at Chakrashila wildlife sanctuary is an activities to explore the potentialities of tourism in Kokrajhar and it’s adjoining areas.
Director of Nature’s Beckon Saumodeep Datta informed that the festival has been organised for bringing healthy promotion of tourism across the Bodoland Territorial Council districts.
