Cattle Mafia Bullet Injury In Kokrajhar


KOKRAJHAR, MAY 31: A cattle mafia has been reportedly recieved bullet injury today in a firing held at Srirampur Simultapu area in Kokrajhar district.

The incident took place today evening around 4.30 pm at Srirampur Simultapu along the interstate border check gate with West Bengal at a gunfight between cattle and police team members as police launched a search operation against the movement of cattle mafia since afternoon.

The cattle mafia first fired from his pistol targeting police team and police in its retaliation fired him where cattle mafia received bullet injuries on his left leg.

The injury person has been rushed to RNB civil hospital Kokrajhar immediately after the incident.

The person has been identified as Sahajalal Sheik (50) of Simultapu.

Sheik has been referred to Barpeta medical college due to critical condition.

He was most wanted of police and involved with cattle smuggling along the Srirampur area since long years.

Sheik was involved with many anti social activities including cattle smuggling, murder cases besides.

A pistol and four live ammunitions were recovered from him.

SP Kokrajhar, Prateek Thube Vijay Kumar told that the cattle mafia Sheik recieved at a firing today at Srirampur where police team led by additional SP Surjeet Singh Panesar. He informed that Sheik was was most wanted and he was earlier arrested two time by police for his involved with anti social activities.

He has said that police administration has been initiating strict step against the cattle smuggling along the interstate border check gate.

Bullet injury Sheik’has been detected COVID-19 positive in the hospital.
