CM Sarma Announces Rs.150 Crores For Construction Of Sports Auditorium In Kokrajhar

KOKRAJHAR, NOV 13: The third triennial conference of the United People’s Party Liberal (UPPL) was concluded on Sunday with adopting several resolutions including for resolving the issues of land rights of different communities for urging upon the Bodoland Territorial Region (BTR) and Assam government to expedite the process of implementing Forest Rights Act 2006, provide land to the landless bonafide citizens and provide land tite to bonafide citizens living in Khas, VGR and PGR land for decades.

The third triennial conference of the UPPL was concluded at Jougalu Fwthar, Chandrapara in Kokrajhar with an open session which was chaired by UPPL president and Bodoland Territorial Region chief executive member Pramod Boro that witnessed a huge gathering participated from different districts of the BTR.

A new executive committee of the UPPL party was formed for next three year tenure for 2023-25 session with Pramod Boro as president, Rajya Sabha MP Rwngwra Narzary as working president, Raju Kumar Narzary and Madhab Chandra Chetry as general secretary (administration) and general secretary (organisation) along with 101 executive member and 26 members of central executive committee respectively.

Chief Minister of Assam, Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma graced as chief guest on the open session of the conference, said that the conference of the UPPL has been witnessed a huge gathering participated from different districts of the region. He said that the UPPL party is an alliance partner with BJP in the state besides reigning in Bodoland Territorial Region.

He has lauded the UPPL party and it’s leaders for stressing better governance in Bodoland region. He said that the BTR government and state government is working dedicatedly for bringing massive development and welfare of the citizens.

He has emphasized for bringing more and more developmental activities across the BTR districts in days to come.

He has assured and announced to extend Rs.150 crores for construction of sports auditorium complex from state government in Bodoland region.

He has appreciated the BTR government and it’s peoples for successfully conducted recent ISPL -2022 event in Kokrajhar which had witnessed a grand smoothly conclude.

UPPL president and BTR CEM, Pramod Boro while addressing the gathering said that today people of the Bodoland region saw a grand gathering at Jougalu Fwthar, Chandrapara in Kokrajhar.

He said that UPPL party and BTR government is committed to work towards the uplift and development of the citizens to make healthy welfare.

He has expressed his gratitude and thanks to the chief minister, Dr Sarma, cabinet ministers Ashok Singhal, Urkhao Gwra Brahma, Rajya Sabha MP Rwngwra Narzary and several leaders for attending the open session of the parry conference.

The UPPL party in it’s delegate session of the party conference resolved several resolutions towards the uplift and development of the region which are included resolved to urge upon the BTR and Assam government to expedite the process of implementing Forest Rights Act 2006, provide land to the landless bonafide citizens and provide land tite to bonafide citizens living in Khas, VGR and PGR land for decades.

The house expressed serious concens over the increased intensity of flood and erosion especially in the foothills of Bhutan. After a lengthy discussion on the issue, the house resolved to mitigate this crisis by improving the flood preparedness and timely and effective erosion management by the BTR Government

The house of the party conference discussed about the rising menace of drugs, alcoholism and anti-social activities amongst the youths and decided to tackle this by promoting sports, culture and literary events. In this regard, the house appreciated the initiative of BTR Government to organize the ” Inter-Sixth Scheduled Premier League”, Kokrajhar Literary Festival, Raagam etc. The house also decided to prepare effective action plan for involving party workers in achieving these objectives in days to come.

The house took note of the plight of the conflict affected victims who have not been rehabilitated properly even after many years. Thus, it was decided to carry out proper and systematic survey to find out exact magnitude of the problem and prepare a rehabilitation plan to be submitted to BTR and Assam Government.

The house discussed in threadbare about ensuring rights of diferent ethnic, linguistic and religious communities. In this regard, in order to ensure equal rights of all the communities, the house decided to urge upon the BTR government to form Development Boards in phase manner for all the communities in the region.

The delegates discussed about grave concerns of child rights in BTR and decided to work in tandem with BTR government in creating Child Friendly Environment in Bodoland Territorial Region.

The house expressed great satisfaction over the continuous help and support from Prime Minister, Narendra Modi, Home Minister Shri Amit Shah, president of BJP, J.P. Nadda and Chief Minister of Assam, Dr. Himanta Biswa Sharma, president of Assam BJP, Bhabesh Kalita. President of AGP, Atul Bora and resolved to extend gratitude and thankfulness to all of leaders those have extended support and cooperation.
