Constant Rise In Positive Cases Witnessed In Chirang 


KOKRAJHAR, APRIL 22: Chirang District has also been witnessing a constant rise in fresh COVID-19 positive cases since the second wave of COVID-19 pandemic is taken place in the country.

As reported by the district health authorities, till Thursday Chirang district has recorded 114 positive cases, including 73 active cases. Among them, 37 patients are currently taking treatment at government hospital and 36 patients with mild symptoms are in home isolation. On Thursday, 15 persons have been tested positive, while 3 have been referred and 6 have been discharged from the hospitals.

In this connection, meanwhile the Deputy Commissioner and Chairman, District Disaster Management Authority, Chirang Gautam Talukdar issued an order for strict observance of COVID-19 protocols like wearing of mask, maintaining social distancing and frequent use of hand sanitizer and soap so as to prevent further spread of coronavirus in the district. It may also be mentioned here that the district has so far vaccinated 21890 beneficiaries with 15354 as first dose and 6536 as second dose of both covishield and covaxin vaccines. In this regard, the district health authority further informed that at present district had sufficient stock of vaccine with the availability of 2330 doses of covishield and 880 doses of covaxin vaccines for vaccination of public.
