COVID-19 Positive Death Toll Goes 6 In Kokrajhar


KOKRAJHAR, MAY 6: The death toll in Kokrajhar district has gone up six with one more death for COVID-19 positive today at Kokrajhar RNB civil hospital.

The deceased was identified as Satyendra Basumatary (58) of Thuribari village in Kokrajhar district. He was detected COVID-19 positive few days ago and was admitted to Kokrajhar RNB civil hospital for treatment and succumbed today early morning.

He was lecturer at Kokrajhar DIET and a sports organiser.

Meanwhile, the COVID positive active case toll goes up to 189 with more 75 RAT positive cases were detected in Kokrajhar district today. Among the active cases, 150 in home isolation, 36 in hospital and 3 were referred active respectively.

On Thursday, 40 were discharged from home isolation and 6 discharged from hospital isolation.

While addressing the reporters today at DC office, deputy commissioner, Kokrajhar Bhaskar Phukan told that the death toll is increasing day by day in the district due to spread of COVID-19 situation.

He informed that till morning today, a total 189 persons are detected active positive cases across the district and district administration has been taking necessary steps to combat the COVID-19 situation.

He said that Covid care hospitals have been set up at Serfanguri, Gossaigaon, Civil hospitals in the district besides 9 ventilation facilities have been arranged at Kokrajhar RNB civil hospital.

He informed that necessary checking steps have been made at Srirampur along the interstate border check gate in Kokrajhar district.
