KOKRAJHAR, DEC 14: The Dularai Bodo Harimu Afad (All Bodo Cultural Organisation) has sought apologize from Dilip Heera, organiser of Shreebhumi Asom cultural troupe for allegedly distorting dance form of Bagurumba in the recently concluded NTPC Bongaigaon Salakati Northeast festival in Kokrajhar district.
Addressing the reporters today at a press conference held in Kokrajhar, Dularai Bodo Harimu Afad (All Bodo Cultural Organisation) president Jageswar Brahma and spokesperson Sanjib Kumar Brahma have strongly reacted over the distortedly Bagurumba dance performing in the recently concluded NTPC Bongaigaon Salakati northeast festival being held at Salakati.
They said that the dance performing of Bagurumba had totally distorted and interpreted the fusion of traditional dance arts.
They said that the traditional Bodo Bagurumba dance was presented showing distortion form of the Bodo music and song in the name of Bagurumba dance.
He said that the dance showcasing was carried out under the leadership of Dilip Heera under the banner of Shreebhumi Asom during the northeast festival which was held at NTPC Bongaigaon Salakati on 11 & 12 December last.
Brahma has strongly reacted and condemned the distort form presentation of the Bagurumba dance.
An FIR lodged with Kokrajhar PS against the distortly dance presentation.
Brahma has demanded immediate apologize from the Dilip Heera.
They said that the traditional Bagurumba dance is an identification of the Bodo community and the traditional Bodo dance must be protected with it’s traditional value and presenting with their own costumes.
They have sought apologize from the cultural troupe as well organiser for performing distortion form of Bagurumba dance.
They have urged the police administration to take strict step against the dance troupe leader for his unsuited dance performing initiative in the name of Bagurumba dance.
