Durga Puja Concludes With The Celebration Of Vijaya Dashami In Kokrajhar


KOKRAJHAR, OCT 15: Along with rest of the state,the Vijaya Dashami of Durga Puja was celebrated after five-day Durga Puja celebration today with immersion of statue of Durga Goddess at various Bisharjonghats including Gaurang River Bisharjonghat in entire Kokrajhar district.

The immersion of statues of Durga Goddess was performed amid a strict security vigil as well maintaining strict COVID protocol at the Bisharjonghats which was arranged by district administration and local municipality boards at Kokrajhar, Gossaigaon and Parbatjhora subdivision of the Kokrajhar district.

At Gaurang Bisharjonghat, nearly 45 statues of Goddess Durga were immersed after five-day Durga Puja celebration.

Huge numbers of devotees and followers of Durga Goddess thronged at the Bisharjonghat and offered last prayer and worship to the Durga Goddess on the occasion of Vijaya Dashami.

The Bisharjonghat was saw strict security vigil besides maintaining of COVID-19 protocol across the district.

SP Kokrajhar Prateek Thube told that the Durga Puja celebration was concluded today with Vijaya Dashami celebration across the district with peaceful and the Vijaya Dashami celebration is going on with peaceful.

Earlier in the morning, huge devotees and followers of Durga Goddess are thronging at the Durga Puja mandhaps to offer prayer and worship to Durga Goddess on the occasion of Dashami Day today before the celebration of Vijaya Dashami in Kokrajhar district.

Peoples in large number of queue are seen at various Durga Puja mandhaps that seen a grand celebration of Durga Puja across the state including Kokrajhar.

Devotees are seeing busy in colouring with Sindhur among each other with extending love and respect on the occasion of Dashami Day today.

District administration Kokrajhar has arranged Bisharjonghat at various places including Gaurang River bank.

Bodoland Territorial Region chief executive member (CEM) Pramod Boro visited at various puja mandhaps at Kokrajhar and Gossaigaon subdivision during the Durga Puja celebration.

Boro visited at the various puja mandhaps in LP town including at Kokrajhar main bazar Sarbajanin Durga Puja mandhap along with his wife and offered his prayer and worship to the Goddess Durga.

The Kokrajhar main bazar Durga Puja celebration committee erected 151st Durga Puja mandhap which is regarded as oldest puja mandhap in Kokrajhar town and it’s adjoining areas.

He has extended his Durga Puja greetings to all citizens of the society and prayed for the humanity well-being for deepening peace and harmony among all sections of the communities.

BPF president and ex BTC chief Hagrama Mohilary and former Assam minister Pramila Rani Brahma have offered their prayer and worship to the Goddess Durga Puja on the occasion of Maha Nabami of Durga Puja on Thursday evening.

Mohilary has prayed for sustainable peace and harmony among all sections of the society in the region.

He said that people must maintain peace and tranquility to meet healthy integration.

“I offered my prayer to the Durga Goddess for blessing happy environment among the society”, Mohilary said.

BPF chief Hagrama Mohilary has expressed his confident that BPF candidate Dhruba Kumar Brahma will win in the Gossaigaon LAC in the by-polls.
