Durga Puja Mandhaps Gains Attractive In Kokrajhar

KOKRAJHAR, OCT 12: Amidst maintaining strict COVID protocol and SOP issued from state government to combat the COVID pandemic, devotees and puja followers are thronging at the puja mandhaps to offer prayer and worship to the Goddess Durga on the day of Maha Saptami today of the ongoing Durga Puja celebration at various puja mandhaps across the district.

Over 130 puja mandhaps have been erected across the Kokrajhar district in three subdivisions- Gossaigaon, Parbatjhora and Kokrajhar Sadar to celebrate the Durga Puja festival with fervour of festivity among the society.

Bodoland Territorial Region chief executive member (CEM) Pramod Boro visited today at various puja mandhaps at Kokrajhar and Gossaigaon subdivision today.

He visited at the puja mandhap at Kokrajhar main bazar Sarbajanin Durga Puja celebration mandhap today evening and offered his prayer and worship to the Goddess Durga.

Kokrajhar main bazar Durga Puja celebration committee erected 151st Durga Puja mandhap which is regarded as oldest puja mandhap in Kokrajhar town and it’s adjoining areas.

He has extended his Durga Puja greetings to all citizens of the society and prayed for the humanity well-being for deepening peace and harmony among all sections of the communities.

The Jainary Club Kokrajhar Gournagar Santinagar erected 54th Durga Puja mandhap with the theme of peace and integrity by using all white colour at the mandhap decoration with lighting reflection.

The mandhap has also highlighted with construction of selfi pandal erecting photos of Tokyo 2020 Olympians Lovlina Borgohain and Neeraj Chopra which has been attracting the visitors.

The Bhawanipur Club erected 77th Puja mandhap with theme of Guitar, Tabla and Dhaki (Dhol) to mark attractions of Durga Puja celebration at Bhawanipur near Kokrajhar town.

Bodoland Territorial Region executive member, Arup Kumar Dey inaugurated the puja mandhap at Titaguri Bhawanipur Puja today morning on the day of Maha Saptami of the Durga Puja celebration.

Dey has extended puja greetings to all citizens and hopeful that Durga Puja celebration will be bringing a healthy peace and harmony among the society.
