Earthquake Forced To Slide Down Bhairabkunda Hill In Udalguri


KOKRAJHAR, APRIL 28: In a strong jolt of earthquake this morning fave forced to be slided a part of Bhairabkunda Hill of Udalguri district in the state of Assam.

A strong earthquake of 6.4 richter scale was felt in four districts of Bodoland Territorial Council (BTC) including Kokrajhar, Udalguri today morning at 7.52 am.

The earthquake have jolted strongly in the region and left reports of cracked of residential building, paddy fields, damaged of properties in several places of Udalguri district.

In the earthquake, a part of Hill at famous tourists destination Bhairabkunda of Udalguri district in Bodoland Territorial Council region along the Indo-Bhutan border area was slided from it’s hill position.

“The Hill’s peak position saw a sliding due to massive and strong earthquake. The earthquake was so strong that couldn’t elaborate with language that hit the hill to be slided down”, said a local people in Udalguri.

In Kokrajhar, the earthquake created fear psychosis among the citizens as the earthquake was so heavy and strong.

“Peoples are seen come out from their residential complexes while the earthquake was felt jolt in the morning”, said a citizen in Kokrajhar town.
