Election Campaign Gains Momentum in Dotma Constituency

KOKRAJHAR, NOV 29: With the closer to the scheduled 4th general elections of Bodoland Territorial Council on December 7 and 10 for 40 member house of Bodoland Territorial Council Legislative Assembly, the electioneering campaigning from different parties have been seen gaining up its momentum in the prestigious No. 8 Dotma constituency in Kokrajhar district.

Several political parties including UPPL, BPF, BJP, GSP are seen busy in campaigning at various places under Dotma constituency to woo the common masses in support of their party candidates.

In Dotma constituency, there is likely to be multi corner contest in the council elections as various parties are taking their election campaigning.

On Sunday, UPPL candidate Jyotirindra Brahma cut the ribbon to inaugurate the election steering committee office at Habrubari near Serfanguri in the presence of huge party supporters and well wishers.

Brahma was accorded warm welcomed by party worker and supporters ahead the office inauguration that saw an enthusiastic moment among the party supporters.

Brahma said that his candidature is getting last laugh as well UPPL party is winning 30 seats of the 40 member house in four districts of BTC.

He has predicted that this time BPF party is facing severe defeat in the council as BPF party has failed to work for the welfare and development of the citizens in their 17 year rule in BTAD. He said that peoples are voting in favour of UPPL party for Parivartan and development.

He has alleged that BPF party has indulged massive corruption and anomalies during their 17 year ruled in BTAD.

“Peoples were deprived their due right and welfare aspects due to insincerity attitudes from BPF party across the four districts of BTAD. Today, common masses are wanting good governance and parivartan in the region, so citizens are voting in favour of UPPL party candidates”, Brahma added.

Meanwhile, BPF candidate Prakash Basumatary while inaugurating the election steering committee office at Anthihara, said that BPF party candidate is getting massive support to win the Dotma constituency in the council elections. He said that there is no space of other party’s existence in Dotma constituency in the district. He said that BPF party is winning majority seats in the scheduled BTC council elections to form the BTC council for fourth consecutive term.

He has assured of protection of river erosion, welfare for farmers and all round development of the citizens.

He said that BPF party was working with wholeheartedly for people’s welfare and development since it’s inception in the region.

He has claimed that peoples from cutting across communities are extending support to the BPF party in the council elections.
