Enhance daily wage Rs.350, accord ST status, provide land pattas: AASAA

KOKRAJHAR, SEP 19: The All Adivashi Students Association of Assam (AASAA) has demanded  enhancement of daily wage upto Rs. 350 for tea estate labours, accord ST status to the Adivashis of Assam state and provide land pattas among the peoples those are living since long decades in the state.
On Saturday, the AASAA carried out a human chain protest demonstration in support of demanding ST status to the Adivasis, enhancement of daily wage of Rs.350 for the Tea Estate labours across the state, provide land pattas etc. The human chain protest was organised at Kokrajhar Tea estate main road near Kokrajhar town. Hundreds of protestors come out to join the protest with banner, placards and demanded early solutions to the issues and demands of the Adivasis. AASAA slammed the BJP led state government for failing to work for the welfare and development of the Adivasis.The student body also strongly warn to take strong protest against the BJP party in the upcoming Assembly elections in the state. AASAA leader Salim Minj while participating the protest demonstration has flayed on the BJP led state government for failing to accord ST status to the Adivashis. He has termed that BJP led state government is cheater. He said that AASAA and Adivashis will step against the BJP party in days to coming. He said that Adivashis are not to be allowed as vote bank in the state and peoples of the Adivasi communities always deprived their due rights and welfare initiative from the government as well parties.
He said that the AASAA and Adivasi organisation will stand united for the welfare and development measures in days to get well being of the communities.
