Escaping Ganja Smuggler Will Be Re-arrested Soon, SP Says


KOKRAJHAR, FEB 20: Police administration, Kokrajhar has started it’s strong investigation into the ganja smuggler bullet injury escaping case from the Barpeta medical college.

Notably, the accused ganja smuggler who was received bullet injuries in the police firing on 16th February at Bhawraguri area under Gossaigaon subdivision in Kokrajhar and later referred to the Barpeta medical college after getting critical condition of the accused person.

The accused person was identified as Suman Namo of Tripura was referred to Barpeta medical college for treatment.

However, Suman Namo was reportedly escaped on Friday night from the hospital and still can’t trace out of the Namo.

The accused person was going under medical treatment under strict police custody and taking opportunity of escaped fled from the medical college on Friday night.

SP Kokrajhar Prateek Thube while talking exclusively with this Correspondent today told that the police administration has started it’s thorough investigation into the escape case and hopeful that the accused Namo would be re-arrested soon.

He said that the police has initiated strong steps against the incident and necessary measures so far stepped up.

Meanwhile, along with rest of the state, the constable written test-2022 of Assam Police AB/UB was conducted at 12 centres across the entire Kokrajhar district today.

Nearly 10000 candidates appeared the written test in the centres amidst a strict security deployment.

The written test of the Assam police constable was concluded with smooth as well peaceful environment.

“A strong security deployment was made along the written test centers to meet a smooth successful of the written test examination”, Thube said.
