Gossaigaon MLA Majendra Narzary Passes Away

KOKRAJHAR, MAY 26: Bodoland People’s Front (BPF) legislator from Gossaigaon constituency and senior BPF leader Majendra Narzary passed away today early morning due to heart stroke at Gauhati medical college and hospital (GMCH).

Narzary was going under treatment at GMCH since few days after detection Covid positive and was recovered from Covid infection two days ago.

However, Narzary faced a heart stroke on Tuesday evening and referred to the ICU for treatment.

Narzary, breathed his last today at 5.50 am morning due to severe condition of stroke.

He was 68. He left two sons, three daughters behind his wife.

MLA Narzary’s life less body brought to his Gossaigaon residence and funeral was done in the evening at Gossaigaon after paying rich floral tribute and homage to late Narzary.

Narzary represented Gossaigaon constituency straight four time consecutive since 2006 till his demise.

He was a school teacher in his profession before joining the politics. He was first elected to the Assam assembly in 2006 on BPF party ticket and sailed as MLA till his death.

Assam Chief Minister Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma, Assam cabinet minister and senior UPPL leader Urkhao Gwra Brahma paid homage to late Narzary at GMCH in the morning.

Dr Sarma expresses his deep condolence over his demise and termed that Narzary was a humble MLA who always think for the people’s welfare and development.

“We have loss a good legislator with his death”, Dr Sarma said.

Former chief executive member of Bodoland Territorial Council and BPF president Hagrama Mohilary extended grief sorrow with loss with the unfortunate demise of Gossaigaon LAC MLA Majendra Narzary today after a heart stroke.

” Majendra Narzary has left a deep sense of regret in our hearts who has represented Gossaigaon constituency for four times since 2006. It is a personal loss for me. Since many years we have shared our political journey together and worked together for a good governance. Together we had more dreams to fufill for our region. His contribution for our society is immense and cannot be measured. He will be always remembered as people’s leader.

May his soul rest in peace. May you always bless us from heavenly abode Majen Da”, Mohilary added.

BTR chief executive member Pramod Boro while paying last tribute to Gossaigaon MLA Majendra Narzary said that society loss a good public representative with his death. Boro expressed deep condolence over his demise.

Narzary was a noted politician among the Bodo community and represented Gossaigaon constituency for four times.

Brahma offered homage to late Narzary at a condolence programme being organised at BPF party office in Kokrajhar today.
