Kokrajhar, May 24: As part of the Gunotsav 2022, some MP, MLAs, EMs and MCLA of BTR, along with senior IAS, IPS and ACS officers participated as external evaluators and interacted with the students and teachers in different schools under Kokrajhar district today.
Rajya Sabha MP Rwngwra Narzary in the capacity of external evaluator visited Debargaon Higher Secondary School, interacted with the students and teachers. Narzary also assessed the quality of education being imparted in the school.
The Rajya Sabha MP expressed his happiness for being able to visit the school and interact with the students and teachers. He praised the school authorities for creating a congenial environment in which education is being imparted to the students.
MLA Jiron Basumatary visited Mothambil High School while MLA Jayanta Basumatary visited Choraikhola ME School and interacted with the students and teachers and assessed the quality of education being imparted in these schools.
BTR EMs Reo Reoa Narzihary, Arup Kumar Dey, Wilson Hasda and MCLA Sajal Kumar Singha visited Balagaon High School, DN Higher Secondary School, Haraputa Telipara LP school and Damrapara ME school respectively and conducted assessments on learning outcomes of children, including co-scholastic activities, use of resources and community participation.
Kokrajhar Deputy Commissioner Varnali Deka also visited various Schools and took stock of ongoing Gunotsav in the district and to ensure smooth conduct of evaluation by the External Evaluators and Senior officials of the Govt. of Assam.
High-ranking officials of Assam government – Gautam Talukdar, Secretary of Power visited Muslim Patti LP school, Bhaskar Phukan, Secretary of Housing and Urban Affairs visited Town Hindi LP school and Dr. Sadak Singh, Joint Secretary of Transformation and Development visited Sishukalyan Siksha Mandir ME school on their first day of three days evaluation programme. They conducted evaluation on skills of students in subject areas and observed key aspects of schools functioning.
The education department in Kokrajhar has already engaged 671 External Evaluators, 1,611 Nodal Teachers and 283 Liaison Officers for the Gunotsav.
Kokrajhar district administration has taken steps to ensure greater participation of all stakeholders starting from teachers, students and communities in the interest of enhancing quality education.
