Hagrama Seeks One Rajya Sabha Seat From CM

KOKRAJHAR, MAR 6: BPF president and former BTC chief Hagrama Mohilary said that his BPF party has demanded a Rajya Sabha seat from chief minister Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma in the upcoming Rajya Sabha elections which is scheduled to be held in April next.

In a media interview today while attending BPF party convention in Kokrajhar, Mohilary has made an appealed to the CM Sarma to leave a Rajya Sabha seat of the two Rajya Sabha seats for BPF party.

He informed that a BPF party delegation team will meet CM within few days regarding the Rajya Sabha seat seeking.

He said that his party is now fully prepared with strengthening the party affairs. He said that central convention of the BPF will be organised in April next. He said that BPF party is preparing strategies for the upcoming 2024 Lok Sabha elections.

He said that his BPF party will make alliance with like minded party as his BPF party is always want to maintain like a subidabadi (opportunistic).

He said that his party is organising a guardian level every Saturday/Sunday of the week since completion of the five state’s assembly elections.

Mohilary has expressed his hopeful that the BJP party is winning majority seats in the elections of municipality board in the entire state as the election was held on Sunday.

Meanwhile, the annual general convention of Kokrajhar district committee of Bodoland People’s Front (BPF) was concluded on Sunday with day-long programme scheduled at Titaguri Iragdao community hall in Kokrajhar.

President of Kokrajhar district committee BPF and ex BTC executive member Derhasat Basumatary hoisted party flag followed by hoisting of party flags of six block committees on the day.

Vice president of Kokrajhar district committee BPF party Gyanendra Narzary offered homage to martyrs on the occasion.

The party has discussed thoroughly over the party affairs in the delegate session where ex minister and senior leader Pramila Rani Brahma attended.

Former Assam minister and senior BPF leader Pramila Rani Brahma has alleged that BJP led NDA alliance government has not been able work for the welfare and development of the state since it’s inception.

Brahma has accused that NDA alliance govt can’t work for citizens the welfare and integration of the society. She has said that NDA alliance government failed while addressing the people’s welfare and development across the state.

She said that her BPF party has so far made prepared strategies for uplift and activities carried out to make strengthening the party affairs across the region.

She has admitted that her BPF party faced massive defeat in last Assam assembly elections and presently party have three MLAs in the assembly.

She said that the present state government has not been working for the welfare and development of the citizens across the state. She has expressed her hopeful that BPF party is strengthening with mass support in days to come.

A new committee of Kokrajhar district committee BPF was formed with Derhasat Basumatary as president and Dipti Prasad Brahma as general secretary respectively.
