Home Guards Association Slams State Government

KOKRAJHAR, JUL 17: Expressing serious concern and protest against the state government for not availing any budget allocation for the Home Guards in the state budget,the Assam State Trained Home Guards Association members staged protest demonstration in Kokrajhar today.

Hundreds of trained home guard association members participated the protest demonstration today in Kokrajhar town in support of demanding early solutions of issues and grievances of the home guard jawans who are relentlessly rendering services day and night across the state.

Over 27000 home guard jawans are rendering their relentlessly services at a loose salaries Rs. 8000 per month which is not suited in today’s era.

“There is no budget space for the welfare and regularisation of Home Guard’s jobs in the state as government had put promises previous years”, association said.

The Home Guards Association slammed the BJP led NDA government in the state for not getting any welfare response in the state budget.

The Association has warned to take strict protest demonstration against the government in support of demanding regularisation of jobs and salary enhencement.

” The state government has been cheating the Home Guard members who are rendering relentlessly day and night at a loose.

The association alleged that even though DGP,DG of Home Guards are there in the state to extend services for the Home Guards,yet no any budget allocation reached to the state budget for the home guards.

The home guards are deprived their due rights and aspiration due to insincerity attitudes from the state government.

“There was held several rounds of talks with government over the issue and grievances of the home guards in previous years,yet no good response reached till date”,the association said.

President of Assam Trained Home Guard Association Sudu Ali slammed the state government and finance minister to allocate budgetary facilities for the home guards in the state to meet regularisation of jobs and salary enhancement.
