Huge Caches Of Arms And Ammunitions Recovered In Kokrajhar

KOKRAJHAR, MAR 8: A huge caches of arms and ammunitions were recovered by police  from different two places including Palashbari deep jungle area of Kokrajhar district since last two days.

Police administration in Kokrajhar have intensified it’s strict search operation against the illegal arms and anti social elements and subsequently the arms were concealed from the deep jungles of Palashbari area under Bagribari police station in Kokrajhar district in last two days.

The recovery arms were included two UG gun, four magazine,16 nos hand grenades, 22 nos pressure bombs and several explosive materials.

However, no one was made arrested in this regard and suspected that the arms would be belonging to former NDFB members which were kept under buried.

Addressing the reporters today at a press conference held at SP office Kokrajhar, special DGP and in-charge IGP of BTR, Dr LR Bishnoi told that the huge caches of arms and ammunitions were recovered in last two days during the search operation in the district.

Bishnoi said that the arms were concealed the arms which were belonging to former NDFB militant outfit organisation members.

He said that the police administration has been stepping strict step against the illegal arms and ammunition in the region and accordingly recovered the arms in the region.

He said that police administration have been initiating strict step against the illegal arms and anti social activities across the BTR districts.

SP Kokrajhar Prateek Thube told that during the last two years police recovered over hundred arms and ammunitions from different places of the district besides two persons neutralised and ten persons apprehended. He said that the police administration has been keeping closed eyes against the illegal arms and anti social elements.
