International Day Of PWD Observed In Kokrajhar


KOKRAJHAR, DEC 3: Along with rest of the state, the international day of persons with disabilities (PWD) with day long programme scheduled at Magurmari Bazar ground in Kokrajhar district on Friday.

An open discussion on the topic of ‘Leadership and participation of persons with disabilities toward an inclusive, accessible, and sustainable post-COVID-19 world’ was organised on the occasion which has highlighted towards the welfare aspects of the persons with disabilities among the society.

The event was organised by Action for Inclusion & Empowerment Trust (AIET) in collaboration with All Adivashi Women Association (AAWA) and Magurmari anchalik AASAA committee.

Deputy Commissioner, Kokrajhar Varnali Deka graced as chief guest on the occasion.

Deka said that state government and distriict administration has been stepping to extend support and helping hand towards the needy peoples who are coming from the persons with disabilities among the society.

She said that concerned authority are working for the welfare and development of the citizens.

Director of the AIET, Bhaotina Mushahary told that the her AIET trust has been emphasizing for bringing healthy welfare and development among the society to bring an integrated with socially uplift in the region. She informed that state government and distriict has been extending necessary supports for the needy peoples in the region.

Among others,Pratibha Brahma. Chairperson, Kokrajhar Municipality Board, Baloram Khetry, secretary, DLSA Kokrajhar, Raju Narzary,

executive director, NERSWN, Pawan Basistha, Block coordinator, DSWO, Kokrajhar were prominent attendees in the event.
