KOKRAJHAR, JUN 21: Along with rest of the state, the 8th International Yoga Day-2022 was celebrated today in the districts of Bodoland Territorial Region (BTR) with sending messages for bringing healthy life through the regularly practicing of yoga while leading daily life a sound health.
In Kokrajhar, hundreds of participants participated in the yoga day celebration and performed practices of yoga held at at KDSA indoor stadium in Kokrajhar, which was organised by district administration Kokrajhar in association with Kokrajhar district committee of Patanjali Yog Samiti.
Bodoland Territorial Region (BTR) chief executive member (CEM) Pramod Boro, MLA Lawrence Islary, additional DC Kokrajhar Subham Aditya Bora, ex MLA Chandi Basumatary, SP Prateek Thube were attended the Yoga Day celebration and performed yoga practices.
Boro said that yoga must be practices daily to meet disease free healthy health among the human living. He has opined that the human mental stress should be decreased by increasing physical strength through the regularly practicing habitual yoga everyday among the society.
He said that the Yoga is all about balancing human’s senses, bodies, souls & minds to live healthily and in peace.
” I am immensely pleasure to attend the International Day of Yoga at KDSA Indoor Stadium, Kokrajhar where peoples from all walks of life participated”,
He urged all citizens to participate in the yoga day celebration and maintain healthy health among the society. Boro said Yoga is an exercise to make disease free health for human beings.
He informed that the BTR administration is taking stern steps to make the yoga as educational curriculum in the BTR districts.
Islary said that citizens from all sections of the society should come forward to make habitual yoga practices everyday.
The yoga day was also organised at Pragati Bhawan by Kokrajhar district BJP party in association with RSS while BTR Yoga Samiti carried out the yoga day at Science College, Kokrajhar auditorium hall.
In Chirang, the International Day of Yoga, 2022 was observed in various parts of Chirang district. The main programme was held at Kajalgaon district parade ground under the aegis of Chirang district administration.
On the occasion, some line departments, which include sports, education, DIPRO, including sports clubs and NGOs also organized yoga programmes at different locations.
Meanwhile, more than 400 people participate in the International Yoga Day celebration at NTPC Bongaigaon Salakati in Kokrajhar district.
International Yoga Day 2022 was celebrated under Aazadi ka Amrit Mahotsav at NTPC Bongaigaon Salakati with a mass yoga session at 7 AM today at the Employee Welfare Association Hall for employees and their family members following COVID protocols. The session was conducted by Debajit Patra, yoga guru and jawan from CISF, NTPC Bongaigaon unit.
Training on Yoga was also given to children of Bal Bhawan and Notredame Academy, NTPC Bongaigaon.
Subrata Mandal, ED, NTPC (Bongaigaon) on the occasion spoke to the employees and family members on the theme of this year’s International Yoga Day “Yoga for Humanity” and thus promote the vision of better health and wellness for all on regular basis. Induri Reddy, GM (Maintenance), Shashi Shekhar, AGM (HR), Shri Sandhip Das, AGM (Safety), Shri Tapas Bachar, AGM (Ash Handling), senior officials and members of Bardwi Shikla Ladies Club also joined the program.
Patra demonstrated various asanas based on Common Yoga Protocol (CYP) as released by the Ministry of Ayush, Government of India under Aazadi ka Amrit Mahotsava. He also provided guidance regarding healthy and mindful diet including various asanas to reduce body weight and improve breathing for a longer life.
On the occasion, GMs, HODs, employees, spouses and children of NTPC Bongaigaon were present.
