ITSSA Appeals for Free and Fair BTC Election


KOKRAJHAR, DEC 5: The Indigenous Tribal Sahitya Sabha of Assam (ITSSA) has appealed for conducting of smooth and free and fair BTC elections scheduled on December 7 and 10 for 40 member house of the BTC Legislative Assembly.

Addressing the reporters at a press conference held at Shakti Ashram on Saturday in Kokrajhar district, general secretary of ITSSA and former general secretary of Bodo Sahitya Sabha Kamala Kanta Mushahary and president of Koch Rajbongshi Sahitya Sabha Dr Dwijendra Nath Bhakat told that the state government has yet to release the Bhasha Gaurab schemes towards the Sahitya Sabha bodies across the state.

He has expressed his resented for not getting government’s scheme of financial support including Bhasha Gaurab on time. He has demanded early release of financial support to all sahitya sabhas under the Bhasha Gaurab scheme of the state government, allot financial aids to the writers under corpus fund of the state government for encouraging the writers across the state.

Mushahary has also urged the state government to stop the age bar on the writers while granting financial supports.
He has emphasised for healthy successful of BTC council for with free and fair environment across the four districts.

He said that common masses are wanting peaceful and integration among all sections of the communities and council elections must be conducted in a peaceful and integrated society for paving the way to elect public representatives for five years next.
