KOKRAJHAR, JUN 6: The electioneering campaigning for the No.22 Koklabari constituency (ST) bye-poll was concluded on Monday at 4 pm.
Notably, the bye-poll for the Koklabari constituency was necessitated following BTR CEM Pramod Boro resigned as MCLA from the Koklabari constituency and held his present position as BTR CEM frok Tamulpur (Goybari) constituency.
The bye poll is taking place on 8th June and counting will be held on 12th June.
There are four candidates are in fray from different parties including ruling UPPL-BJP-GSP alliance party’s candidate Mantu Boro, Shangkhar Basumatary (BPF), Hiren Sarania and Laba Basumatary (Independents).
Nearly 72,000 voters are franchising their democratic voting rights to elect a public representative from Koklabari constituency to the Bodoland Territorial Council Legislative Assembly (BTCLA).
Several hundred new members from different parties including BPF party have joined the ruling UPPL party ahead the bye poll in Koklabari constituency.
On the last day of the election campaign, Bodoland Territorial Region chief executive member Pramod Boro, Assam cabinet minister Urkhao Gwra Brahma, Assam state BJP president Bhabesh Kalita, MLAs Lawrence Islary, Jayanta Basumatary, Jayanta Malla Baruah, BTR executive members Ranjit Basumatary, Ghanashyam Das, Dr Nilut Swargiary, Daobaisa Boro, Dhananjay Kumar, Gautam Das were addressed electioneering campaigning meeting at various places under Koklabari constituency to woo the common people and appealed to vote in favour of UPPL-BJP-GSP alliance party’s candidate Mantu Boro in the election.
Boro said that the UPPL led UPPL-BJP-GSP alliance party’s candidate Mantu Boro is getting last laugh from the Koklabari constituency as peoples from all walks of life are coming forward to extend support and vote in favour of Mantu Boro.
He said that UPPL-BJP-GSP alliance government in Bodoland Territorial Region and NDA alliance government in the state are jointly working dedicatedly towards the welfare and development of the society since it’s inception in the region.
He said that peoples from all sections of the communities are extending their massive support to the UPPL and it’s alliance partners in the bye-poll to meet a better governance with integration.
He said that the BTR government has been emphasizing for bringing healthy welfare and all round development of the society.
