Meanwhile Tamulpur MLA and senior Bodoland People’s Front (BPF) leader Emmanuel Muchahary has confirmed his decision to join the saffron party. Mushahary who is the general secretary of BPF said that he will be joining the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) after the BTC (Bodoland Territorial Council) elections along with good number of supporters. The senior BPF leader have revolted against the party few months back.
Dass said the BJP is fighting the BTC elections all alone and fielded candidates in 26 constituency. He expressed confidence of the party forming the government in BTC.
He said along with the BTC elections, the party is making preparations for the Assembly elections scheduled next year by organising Morcha meeting in various districts of Assam.
Assam State BJP President Ranjit Kumar Dass visited Kokrajhar to attend the 3-days executive meeting of Assam State BJP ST Morcha Executive which begins from today at Kokrajhar Higher Secondary and Multiple purpose school ground in Kokrajhar town. A bike rally was also carried out on the occasion which started from Titaguri to meeting ground Kokrajhar Higher Secondary and Multiple purpose school ground. Health minister Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma is scheduled to attend the function tomorrow while chief minister Sarbananda Sonowal will attend the concluding day of the executive meeting on 14 October. Matter related to ensuing BTC elections and assembly elections 2021 are the key issues likely to be discussed in the executive meet.
