Mass Campaigning Gains Momentum For BTR Elections

KOKRAJHAR, NOV 4: Although the dates to the general elections of Bodoland Territorial Region (BTR) has yet to declared by state election commission of Asssm, mass election campaigning of various parties including BPF, UPPL, BJP, GSP, AIUDF, Congress are seen gaining up momentum to woo the common voters in the four districts of the area.

Notably, UPPL party is contesting in 40 seats, BPF 37, GSP 35, BJP 26, AIUDF 7 and Congress 13 across the 40 member house of the BTR legislative assembly.

The elections to the BTR legislative assembly is likely to be held in first week of the December next and dates to be announced within 15th November for the BTR general elections.

On Wednesday, BPF chief and former BTC chief Hagrama Mohilary addressed grand women’s mass gathering a three different places including Owabari under Baukhungri constituency for party candidate Doneswar Goyary,Harigaon Salakati has for party candidate Derhasat Basumatary and Basugaon town for party candidate B Saoraigwra in Kokrajhar and Chirang districts.

Mohilary informed that the elections to the BTR is going to be held in first week of the December and dates to be declared likely within November 15. He said that BPF party is fully prepared for the BTR elections and  accordingly the election campaigning is getting massive in the constituencies in the districts.

He said that BPF party has been emphasizing to deepen integration and welfare in the areas that has been gained up among the society.

He said that citizens from all sections of the society are coming forward to extend support to the BPF party in the ensuing BTR elections.

He has expressed his hopeful that his party is winning majority seats in the BTR elections. He said that BPF party is forming the BTR legislative assembly with majority seats to meet heathy development and welfare for all communities in the area.

He has promised to distribute land pattas, massive development aspects if his voted to the power for four consecutive term in the BTR.

He said that peace and integration among all sections of the communities must be prevailed for paving the way healthy development as peoples are maitaining deep maintaining in the region.

“Peace and unity among the society can deepen growth of development,so citizens must maintain social integration”, Mohilary added.

On the arrest of journalist Arnab Goswami, Mohilary said that law is taking its own course. He said that Goswami was arrested for allegedly manipulation of TRP to establish his news channel popularity. He said that TRP manipulation was not suited in today’s juncture.

He has urged not to manipulation of TRP to make more limelight among the viewers. “If a news channel perform good attraction,it will be always position holder among the viewers”, Mohilary said.

BPF candidate for Baukhungri constituency Doneswar Goyary has claimed that his candidature is getting last laugh from the constituency as peoples from all sections are supporting his candidature in the BTR legislative assembly elections.

BPF candidate for Salakati constituency Derhasat Basumatary said that this time BPF party is recovering the Salakati constituency with massive supports.He said his winning is clear and common voters are extending majority supports.

He has claimed that BPF party is winning 30 plus seats of the 40 member house in the BTR legislative assembly elections.

Meanwhile, UPPL president Pramod Boro addressed an election campaign Dwarkuchi area under Tamulpur sub-divisional in Baksa district on Wednesday.

Boro said that UPPL party is getting majority supports in all 40 constituencies of the BTR legislative assembly.He said that peoples are voting in favour of UPPL party for Parivartan and massive development in the region.

He has alleged that BPF party has totally failed to work for the citizens in their 17 year rule in the region.

“BPF party has indulged massive corruption and anomalies on all development and welfare aspects of the citizens in four districts of the BTR which led the common masses deprived and  far from development aspects”, Boro added.
