Massive Fire Gutts In Kokrajhar Daily Market

KOKRAJHAR, MAR 13: A massive fire was broke out at daily market in Kokrajhar town near railway station in Saturday evening and huge lakhs of properties were reportedly damaged in the fire.

The fire was first noticed by local people from the western part of the daily market and later engulfed to the eastern part that created havok and fear psychosis among the residents.

According to local peoples, the fire was broke out near about 10.15 pm in the night and later doused by the 12.30 am after nearly 2.30 hour as several seven fire tender buses rushed the spot within few minutes of the incident occurred.

Several shops like shoe shop, clothes, grocery,fruits, ayurvedic medicine shop etc were gutted in the fire and left to the destroy into ashes.

The fire was suspected to be generated from the electric short circuit that brought damages of several lakhs of properties owning of the traders.

At-least seven fire tenders rushed the spots and doused the fire after near about 2.30 hour since 10 .15 pm.

Fire fighters from fire services, district police officials, NTPC Bongaigaon Salakati fire services, magistrates, circle officers and local police have jointly participated the fire dousing jobs.

The tragic fire incident have brought miserable condition among the local traders as fire left massive damaged and destroy of the properties.

Additional SP Kokrajhar Surjeet Singh Panesar, DSP Punam Pegu and several senior police officials actively participated the fire control activities.
