KOKRAJHAR, FEB 19: A three day mega cultural event begins today at Bodofa Cultural Complex in Kokrajhar to demonstrate cultural activities of different communities in the Bodoland Territorial Region.
The Ragam-The Bodoland Sanskriti, a mega cultural event, an initiative towards building peace and unity which was organised by Cultural department of Bodoland Territorial Region (BTR).
The event started with hoisting of flags of different communities. BTC executive member Daobaisa Boro hoisted the event flag amidst presence of huge participants.
BTR CEM Pramod Boro inaugurated the event amidst huge gathering of cultural troupes from different communities.
Boro paid rich floral tribute to Bodofa Upendra Nath Brahma, former president of ABSU and martyrs on the occasion.
A total 20 community’s social organisations are participating the cultural event.
Several noted singers, Cultural organisers, actors, senior music organisers including Jubin Garg, Kalpana Patowary, Dr Janak Jhangkar Narzary, Mannan Khan are participating the event.
A multi cultural cultural demonstration was showcase in the event which created amusement and recreation among the participants.
On 21 February, Assam Cultural affairs minister Naba Kumar Doley, BTC CEM Pramod Boro are attending the closing ceremony celebration of life mega cultural event.
BTC executive member for Cultural affairs and chairman of the Organising Committee, Daobaisa Boro informed that the mega cultural event will showcase beautiful cultural activities of the various communities of the BTR areas.
BTR CEM Pramod Boro said that the cultural event is a step of bringing peace and tranquility among the society.
He said that the UPPL-BJP-GSP combined coalition government in BTR has been emphasised to bring healthy development and offer services across the communities in the BTR districts since it’s inception.
“The mega cultural event is a sign of integrity with commitment building up among the society to meet better administration with equal opportunity distribution. Peoples always wants peace and tranquility to have good living”, Boro said.
Boro said that the mega event has been highlighting the unity and integrity among all sections of the communities in the region.
He has appealed all sections of the citizens to cooperate the event to meet a grand success with smooth.
BTC executive member for Forest department, Ranjit Basumatary planted sapling along the Bodofa cultural complex on the occasion while marking the occasion.
