Minor Girl Raped In Kokrajhar, Accused Held


KOKRAJHAR, MAY 15: A minor girl (17-year-old) was reportedly raped by an aged person  in Kokrajhar district. Police arrested the accused person who was a fourth grade employee at 7th Assam Police battalion, Choraikola.

The incident took place inside the residential complex of 7th AP battalion Choraikola in Kokrajhar district. The accused person was a fourth grade employee (Barbar) at Assam Police of 7th AP BN at Choraikola of Kokrajhar district.

The victim girl was a second year student of HS in Kokrajhar Govt College.

Child Welfare Committee (CWC) Kokrajhar lodged an FIR with Kokrajhar police station, bearing registration case no.373/2021, under section 376A-B/47 POSCO Act.

Police arrested the accused persons for involved with incident late evening. The arrested accused person was identified as Sobha Thakur (50).

Police also detained girl’s adopted father Basudev Thakur for interrogation.

The accused person has been repeatedly raped the minor girl since few 4 years.

According to Kokrajhar police station officer in-charge Dipak Saikia said that the girl was adopted daughter by one Assam Police Jawan of 7th  AP BN at Choraikola.

He said that police initiated strict step against the incident and arrested the accused person.

Strict investigation is going on.

Adopted father also lodged a counter FIR against the incident
