Minor Girl Rescued In Kokrajhar


KOKRAJHAR, MAR 9: The childline (1098) and NEDAN in collaboration with GRPF Kokrajhar have rescued a minor girl from Kokrajhar railway station and arrested the accused trafficker.

The accused trafficker was belonged from the village Tarkikata (Purnapani) under the Police Station of Lalgarh, Pachim Medenipur (West Bengal)

The trafficker was identified as Sunil Hembrom (27).

According to source, a 14 year old minor girl child Rose (name changed) hailed from village (remote area) from Kokrajhar district was trafficked by the accused Sunil Hembrom (27years) on 9th of March.

The Childline (1098) and NEDAN in collaboration with GRPF rescued her from Kokrajhar Railway Station. Accused belongs from the village Tarkikata (Purnapani) under the Police Station of Lalgarh, Pachim Medenipur (West Bengal).

In the month on February, accused Sunil had visited his friend Soniram Mardi’s house at village (remote area in Kokrajhar district), there both party (accused & victim) happened to meet each other.

Sunil Hembrom approached Rose (name changed) she fall in love and trusted him blindly. On 6th of March, Sunil trafficked Rose (name changed) from the village and took her to Kachugaon, where victim was unknown about the people and the place. Sunil promised her to marry and provide a job good at company in Tamil Nadu.

After three days, which is on 9th of March (2022) both have moved from Kachugaon to Kokrajhar railway station in the morning at round 7:30 am to board a train to Tamil Nadu. Since she was missing from home her parents informed the case to Childline. Hence Rose (name changed) was rescued from the railway station.

The rescued girl was produced before the chiarperson of CWC (Child Welfare Committee) and temporary shelter was provided to the victim at Destination Girls Home in Kokrajhar.
